In the early days of computing, most IT innovations and breakthroughs were led by developed countries. In recent years, developing countries have started to emerge as leaders in the field of ICT. Egypt is a prime example of this shift with an impressive track record of achievements in various areas of IT. How are we going to keep up with this?

The Egyptian government has been investing heavily in the IT Industry sector in recent years, and it has paid off. The country now has one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, and its IT industry is booming. There are many talented Egyptian engineers and entrepreneurs who are driving innovation in the sector.

One of the challenges for developed countries is that they often lag behind when it comes to adopting new technologies. This is because they have legacy systems and infrastructure that need to be updated or replaced. Developing countries, on the other hand, can be more agile and quickly adopt new technologies.

To stay competitive, developed countries need to continue to invest in research and development (R&D) in the IT sector. They also need to create an environment that is conducive to innovation, such as by providing tax incentives for startups. Furthermore, they need to attract and retain top talent from around the world.

How are we going to keep up with the IT Industry?

– MCIT collaborates with all government sectors to achieve digital transformation through two pillars: citizen services and government performance improvement.

Citizens will be able to access government services in a digital version from anywhere in the country. Several options for paying service fees online have also been made available.

Digital Egypt e-Platform

MCIT has developed various projects as part of the Digital Egypt initiative to provide citizens with digital government services through five channels:

– Digital Egypt e-platform

– Mobile applications

– Call centers (15999)

– Post offices

– Citizen service centers.

The e-platform Digital Egypt was launched to enable better, wider, and more effective access to a variety of government services. E-payment firms, mobile wallets, and credit cards have all been made available as options for paying for services electronically. The main goals of this initiative are to improve service delivery and make it more convenient for citizens to access government services. So far, the feedback from users has been positive and the platform is off to a good start. In the future, even more, services will be added to the platform in order to make it even more useful for everyone.
